Huntingdon Regional College, Huntingdon
Client: Huntingdon Regional College
In conjunction with Architects Saunders Boston, Richard Herrmann Associates provided the structural and civil design associated with a new main entrance and remodelling internally of the existing college.
Significant steelwork columns and beams were designed to provide stability to the new entrance area, whilst altering and adjusting the existing framed building to suit the proposed layout.
Complexities of dealing with dilapidated concrete elements were overcome by carrying out detailed and intrusive investigations on site, both before and during construction. Stability and restraint of concrete façade panels were also addressed.
The civil engineering element of the project involved road and car park pavement design.
