The Appraisal

We are well versed in carrying out building inspections of existing buildings to provide guidance on potential causes of movement or advice on remedial details that may be required to address deterioration or shortcomings of structure.

We offer commercial building appraisals, floor appraisals, and roof appraisals as inspection of existing buildings often require more investigation than actual design, as the underlying cause can require the identification of soils, foundations, building materials, drainage details, nearby vegetation, etc. before definitive advice can be provided.

Please see below for examples of the nature of inspections that are often carried out.

(Please note that we do not carry out pre-purchase surveys of properties.)

If you would like a commercial building appraisal please contact us on our Contact Us page or ring the phone number above.

Existing Building Issues

Building age, construction details and, materials all need to be considered when determining the implications of any issues being inspected.

We provide reports specifically focussed on addressing any shortcomings identified.

Boundary Walls

We have experience in providing advice regarding the safety and condition of boundary walls of modern or traditional construction.

Building Movement

Buildings can deteriorate for any number of reasons, from material degradation to water ingress. Our team of experienced structural engineering consultants are extremely experienced in carrying out such investigations.

Our location in Cambridgeshire makes building movement a key issue, as we have ground conditions that often play a significant part in causing subsidence and/or heave.

Due to our background and location, we are experienced in identifying and reporting on the suspected causes of such building movements.

Site visits and building inspections are carried out to our client’s requirements. We ensure that the works designed have been interpreted and constructed correctly.
