Its flagship project is the National Cycle Network, which has created 12,763 miles of signed cycle routes throughout the UK including 5,273 mi of traffic-free paths.

Extending the network often involves creating footbridges suitable for cycle and horse riders and we have designed numerous suitable bridges.

These bridges need to meet certain requirements for footbridges in the countryside, such as having handrailing strong enough to resist the force of a falling cyclist, or deck finishes that are appropriate for use by horses and riders. Longevity and degree of exposure are also important considerations that we take into account within our design process.

The final result of designing the bridge, whether in steel, timber or both materials, is an aesthetically pleasing, efficient structure that is feasible to construct, affordable for the client and that continues to serve the community for many years to come.
