We are delighted to be providing structural design services for our esteemed client, The Crown Estate, in relation to an exciting project that involves a modest-sized yet intricately designed extension to a property situated in the picturesque area of Gorhambury. The vaulted ceiling will be supported by somewhat unusual perimeter walls, which are to be constructed using a combination of timber studwork and hempcrete blockwork. This choice of materials is particularly significant as it reflects a commitment to sustainable building practices while also ensuring structural integrity and thermal performance.

The use of timber studwork provides not only strength but also adopts a renewable resource, contributes to the eco-friendly credentials of the building.
